Facilities
Admission to Centre
Apprentices must at all times enter the Centre by the designated student entrance only. Parts of the site are 'Out of Bounds' unless instructions to the contrary are given. Apprentices should not allow people to follow them through doors in the centres.
Catering Facilities
Hot and cold food and drinks are available for purchase from the Training Centres Refectory (Café). You may bring your own food to the centre however the canteen staff will not offer a reheat service or provide hot water for beverages or snack items.
Food and drink is not permitted within the workshop, open IT or classrooms except for containers of liquid that can be completely sealed so there no possibility of spillage.
The TTC has two internal dining areas (refectories) and an outside picnic area. All of these areas are self-clean. Apprentices using the outside area must dispose of rubbish in the appropriate bin and those using the internal dining areas are to return plates, cutlery etc. to the trolley provided in each area. The dining area away from the workshop is a clean area therefore the wearing of overalls in this area is not permitted. Overalls must be completely removed before entering the area (even if only purchasing items to takeaway). Plates, cutlery etc. are not to be used in the picnic area or removed from the centre. Disposable containers are provided for takeaway food.
The Hub has the one dining area which again is self-clean and all plates, cutlery etc. should be placed on the trolley provided in each area.
Personal Lockers
Personal and overall lockers are provided for learners at the centre.
All garments not required by learners during normal working hours are to be kept in personal lockers. Lockers use 4mm Padlocks.MakeUK will take every reasonable precaution, but cannot accept liability for the loss of, or damage to, any articles stored in personal lockersToilets
Both male and female toilets can be found in the workshop area and in the locker area. Disabled toilets are also situated in the workshop areas.
Toilets are to be kept clean and tidy at all times
Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices is not permitted within the toilets.
Fresh supplies of toilet tissue and soaps can be requested through your tutor / instructor.
Car Parks
There is parking for students on a first come first served basis at the TTC main carpark, alternatively you may use the Halford Drive Sports HUB.
Please do not park on service roads around the estate. The estate operates a strict parking policy and will tow away vehicles parked on service roads.
Housekeeping
It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that the Centre is kept in a well-maintained and presentable condition. This means, that each area should be left in an acceptable condition and should be ready for use by the next person / group. Apprentices will be required, under the guidance of their instructor to assist in maintaining this practice. See also the Health and Safety Policy.
